What makes the clicking noise when you shake a bottle of nail polish?

little silver balls inside of the nail polishWhat makes the clicking noise when you shake a bottle of nail polish?
in between the brush and neck of the bottle is a ball.. its there so when the bottle tips it wont spill also so it wont become chunkyWhat makes the clicking noise when you shake a bottle of nail polish?
The little metal ball inside the bottle. It's helps the nail polish to stir around so it's not chunky so don't remove it out of the bottle.
a little ball that mixes the nailpolish so it is not all yucky and that
There's a little ball in there to keep the polish from clumping.

Is it true that you cannot wear makeup or nail polish when having surgery?

I have to get surgery on my knees and someone told me this. It sounds kindof silly to me...but is it true?Is it true that you cannot wear makeup or nail polish when having surgery?
yes, b/c looking at your nails is a way to ensure your body is circulating properly and has enough oxygen.

same with your face.

even with all the machines and equipment today, some natural signs are still better:)

good luck in surgery, honey, and take care.

also, you ahve to remove any and all jewelry.

as for the make up part...talk to your dr...there may be a way around it...

:)Is it true that you cannot wear makeup or nail polish when having surgery?
and why would you want to?????????????
Yes this is true, dont know what's the technical explaination for this but based on my experience, u cannot wear anything like make up or any other accesories for that matter during surgery.
It is more hygenic to be totally clean when going into surgery. Mascara and other types of makeup can carry germs, and the operating room must be as steril as possible.

technicians might touch your face or brush past it and they want little chance for infection. My doctor told me this before I had my c-section.
if it is for face then they may tell not to have make up but ur surgey is for knees don''t vary about that u can have ur make up.
it is weird... when i went in for surgery i didnt have makeup on already, but i did have nail polish. they told me that i woud have to take it off, but they didnt give me any remover lol so i sat there all morphined up peeling it off.. and they never checked or anything.. they definitely didnt make a big deal of it.. but you might as well just take off your nail polish and go in without makeup since you're having planned surgery. mine was more emergency so i couldnt really plan. i just got lucky and got sick after a shower so i didnt have makeup on lol

good luck in surgery!
In the UK for any surgery on the NHS you can not wear either and for your own safety.

The first answer was right as to why

They need to be able to check your fingernails as blue to pink colour on the flesh under them are a good - and very fast - indication of oxygen levels.

And they need to look at the skin colour on your face during surgery un-disguised by make up to make sure you are OK ans saturation levels are fine. Also as already said make up is full of bacteria and traps more while worn

(there was some research that showed a year old lipstick contained more bacteria than your toilet seat - so buy new every month or so , same with mascara and foundation)

Why worry, you will not look at your best during and after surgery - make up will only look dreadful on a white, druged and strained face it would smear during all that happens in surgery and if you vomit afterwards and painted nails will not enhance how you look during surgery with tubes down your throat and in your arms.

It is better to have one day off of wearing make up and nail varnish as it may save your life while under the knife.

I am surprised one answerer was not offered nail varnish remover or raw acetone to remove her nail varnish - I always have been given it by a nurse and I have had lots of surgery, but to be safe bring your own or take it off before you go.

PS you are also not allowed to wear any jewellery as this can trap bacteria so it will be taken off you before you go to surgery - I advise you for safety not to wear it to the hospital and to leave your jewellery at home
I've had two different surgeries and one surgeon told me I couldn't wear nail polish while the other surgeon for the other surgery told me it was fine.

My cousin had a pedicure before she went into surgery (she had foot surgery) and they didn't say anything!

I'd call the office before and ask them.

Does anyone know the best brand for long-lasting nail polish?

I can't stand nails to be chipped even the tiniest bit, but even when i put a base and top coat on with a normal 'long-lasting' nailpolish it chips that day and i have to take it off. So any suggestions on a good brand?Does anyone know the best brand for long-lasting nail polish?
I have good luck with both OPI and Orly. However, the application may make the greatest difference.

Start with clean nails by using nail polish remover on them. Then apply a light coat of vinegar with a cotton ball and let it dry. This helps the polish adhere to the nail.

Use a good base coat, then 2 coats of polish and then a good top coat like Seche Vite. Allow around 10 minutes between coats for the polish to 'set up'.

BTW, cremes tend to last longer than frosts or metallics.

The result should look and wear like a professional manicure (or pedicure)!Does anyone know the best brand for long-lasting nail polish?

For those that go to church, is it a sin for guys to wear nail polish or to get a manicure/pedicure?

This is those for who go to church %26amp; so on. I'm wondering if it's a sin for guys to wear nail polish or to get a manicure/pedicure for your hands/feet? I noticed I saw it happen a lot of internet sites nowadays.

Thanks! For those that go to church, is it a sin for guys to wear nail polish or to get a manicure/pedicure?
i don't think its a sin... but it may lead 2 vanity which is one of the seven deadly sins. For those that go to church, is it a sin for guys to wear nail polish or to get a manicure/pedicure?
There are plenty of people who go to church and commit many sins. Wearing nail polish is not a sin...male or female. Besides they should not judge you, lest they be judged.
why would you ware nail polish??????
No whats that got to do with God anyway? would be a bit sexist anyway!
you can get manicures pedicures because even my dad does that but you should not get them painted anything but clear
NO
no definetly not a sin!
It's only a sin if the guys trying to look feminine. If he isn't, then who cares? The Bible says it's a sin to dress as a woman, but there's nothing wrong with a guy liking a little TLC on his hands and nails. It's a bit more high-maintenance than usual, but rich guys have been doing it for years. I don't think God would have any problem with you pampering yourself a little.
well.........i dont think its a sin, like it might b 4 cathlics........but i am not one of them....but again y would u want to?????? its a lil gayish
Priests wear clear polish. Idk about their toenails.

You shouldn't do anything that brings attention to yourself at church.People should be giving their attention to God. I'm not saying it's a sin.. Don't expect to wear colored polish if you're a guy and not get talked about. Better not to give them anything to talk about.
Yes, that's a sin...but lipstick isn't.
Is may lead for others to sin seeing it and judging the ones who wear the nail polish et al.

The ones who had it may not even be aware of the sin he may cause to others.

How could I remove finger nail polish from purple suede couch?

Well, try applying some fingernail polish remover to a part of the couch that isn't seen and see what affect it has on the material. If it doesn't cause discoloration or other harm, use it to clean the spot. Otherwise just get a couple of pillows and cover it up. Maybe it will wear off with time. How could I remove finger nail polish from purple suede couch?
Carefully scrape excess with a dull knife or spatula. Mix a solution of mild soap in lukewarm water. Swish to create a great volume of suds. Apply only the foam with a sponge, but avoid spreading the stain. Dry with a clean cloth. If the polish has hardened, try gently rubbing an artgum eraser across it. As a last resort, cautiously file the area with an emery board or a piece of very fine (grade 6/0-8/0) sandpaper. As a thin layer of hide is removed, work carefully. How could I remove finger nail polish from purple suede couch?
IT IS IMPERVIOUS TO SOAP AND WATER. NAIL POLISH REMOVER/ACETONE WILL DISSOLVE/LIQUEFY IT SO IT CAN BE REMOVED. IF YOU ARE LUCKY THOSE EFFORTS WILL NOT DAMAGE THE FABRIC.

  • What are the ingredients of nail polish remover, apart from acetone?

Acetone is one of the biggies, although some nail polish removers are using ethyl acetate instead.

Depending on the brand you buy, I've seen some that have some glycerin or aloe vera (so that your skin doesn't dry out as much due to removal of essential oils), and then some have fragrances.

For instance, here's the ingredient list for a ';kinder, gentler'; remover:

Butyl Acetate, Ethyl Acetate, Isopropyl Alcohol, Dibutyl Adipate, Citrus Aurantium Amara (Bitter Orange)Oil, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Benzophenone-3, Cl 26100 (D%26amp;C #17). (see ref)
